A wilderness ranch for wilder times

Set on 39 acres on the Far South Coast of NSW you'll find a cleared block of land deep in the forest, a place called Sugar Rock Ranch. Once cleared for cattle grazing, now a transformation project to invite the wild back in - a wilderness ranch for wilder times.

Located opposite the northern end of the Beowa National Park in Eden, its the perfect location for eco-conscious travellers in search of long weekend getaways full of quiet, nostalgia and adventures outdoors.

Every property has a story

Back in the 80's a second generation bush arborist had a vision for this block of land. He spent years clearing the property and processing the timber, it was an aborists dream to build a house out of timber he felled and milled himself.

Originally the barn was built as a machinery shed, it soon became a home away from home for the arborist and his family affectionately calling the property “Little Bellbird” as it sits on Little Bellbird hill.

Over the next 20 years they raised their children nurturing and caring for the property which will forever have a place in their hearts.

An alternative accommodation for the eco-conscious traveller

Sugar Rock Ranch foundations are firmly built on our strong commitment to the environment, we aim to be ecologically sustainable and culturally responsible in everything that we do - we're building for the future of tourism.

To ensure our ranch would have minimal impact on flora and fauna a considered approach to the practices we take in running our operations with an aim to put back what we take and more.

We've put the right tools in place to measure waste, energy and water consumption which will allow us to reduce our footprint whereever possible and offset what we can't, Our goal will be to achieve carbon neutrality.

Over a 5 year period we have plans for a rewilding initiative, a natural asset management project that not only protects the natural heritage of the land but regenerates biodiversity providing vital habitat for endangered plants and animals.
